The kNOw Carbon House is committed to safeguard the privacy of individuals with respect to personal data. We therefore make sure that our policies and practices in relation to the collection, use, retention, transfer and access of personal data comply with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).

Information Collection and Use

Whenever you use the online booking service of the kNOw Carbon House, we collect relevant personal data.

When you register for our services, we ask for information such as your name, email address and telephone numbers. We will also confirm your identity when you submit applications.

The kNOw Carbon House uses the personal data provided for the following general purposes: fulfill your requests for services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal use.

You have the right to request access to and correction of your personal data held by the kNOw Carbon House. Information Sharing and Disclosure

The kNOw Carbon House will not rent, sell, or disclose your personal data to other people and non-affiliated companies unless we have your consent or it is necessary for us to provide you with a service, or with the following exceptions:

We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with the kNOw Carbon House under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal data to help the kNOw Carbon House communicate with you about services and information. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.

To respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of terms of use of the kNOw Carbon House, or as otherwise required by law.

If the kNOw Carbon House is outsourced, we may transfer your information to the outsourced contractor. In this event, we will notify you before such information is transferred and the information transferred will be protected under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).

Confidentiality and Security

Access to your personal data will only be given to employees who we believe have a reasonable need to contact you in order to provide you with services, or who have a reasonable need to do so for other work-related reasons
