Erected in 1913, this L-shaped building at the junction of Wan Chai Gap Road and Queen’s Road East.
Served as the Wan Chai Post Office between 1915 and 1992.
It is the oldest surviving post office building in Hong Kong and was declared a monument in 1990.
In 1993, the Environmental Protection Department converted it into the Wan Chai Environmental Resource Centre to continue serving the public.
After renovation, this building was renamed as “kNOw Carbon House” in 2024 with the theme of carbon neutrality to enhance public education and promotion of carbon neutrality.
